I was a horse crazy young girl and my first career choice was to be a jockey. However, by the age of 12, I became too tall for that career and I switched my goal to becoming a veterinarian, which I have never regretted. For the first 10 years of my career, I treated horses, cattle, sheep and goats. I then grew weary of working 24/7, and switched to small animal medicine which is much more family friendly for raising children.  I owned my own small animal practice in Ceres, California that I sold in 2021 when my husband retired. We then decided to make the move to the beautiful state of Tennessee where I joined Lakeway Animal Hospital as managing DVM. My husband and I have 3 sons, 2 of which have left the nest. We brought a horse, sheep, 4 cats and a dog from California. Recently we have acquired a Tennessee native cat that showed up on our doorstep demanding a home. We are loving our new Tennessee home and have felt welcomed by all we have met. We have found our new church home here as well. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading, attending Bible Study and attending my son's sporting events. I am hoping to start trail riding and exploring more of Tennessee on horseback.
